Admission requirements

Four-year PhD programme (full-time) split into one year of coursework and three years of advanced research. Covers bacterial and viral infections, eukaryotic infections, host-pathogen genomics, immune response mechanisms, bioinformatics and signal transduction. Entry requires a relevant Master's degree or a good first degree (minimum Second Class Lower) — candidates entering with a first degree join the Master's programme and upgrade to PhD after year one with a GPA of 3.5+. Fellows are mentored by University of Ghana faculty and international partner institution scientists, with access to state-of-the-art laboratories. Students are prepared to compete for global research grants and publish in high-ranking journals.
