Admission requirements

Two-year programme combining one year of intensive coursework and one year of supervised research in Molecular Biology. Core topics include advanced molecular biology, molecular mechanisms of development, complex biomolecules, bioinformatics, eukaryotic cell biology and research methodology, complemented by electives in advanced protein chemistry, parasite biochemistry, antimicrobial chemotherapy, advanced enzymology and biochemical toxicology. All students receive training in modern field and laboratory methods and are supported to complete original research for their dissertation and publication in peer-reviewed journals. Suited to individuals pursuing academic, industry or government research careers, those upgrading their biomedical knowledge, and those preparing for PhD study. Graduates are prepared for roles in research institutions, clinical laboratories, academia and government agencies.

Admission Requirements: Good first degree (minimum Second Class Lower) in biological or physical sciences; at least 9 credit hours in Chemistry, Biochemistry and/or Molecular Biology.

An entrance exam and a selection interview required.
