Bioinformatics (MSc)
Admission requirements
An MSc programme training postgraduates with advanced knowledge in bioinformatics to meet national and sub-Saharan Africa regional research needs. The programme covers one year of rigorous coursework spanning the basic principles and concepts of bioinformatics, data science, biology, biocomputing, mathematics and statistics, programming languages, and genomics, equipping students to use existing software and tools to extract data from large biomedical repositories and apply it in computational modelling and simulations. Graduation requires 39–45 credit hours of coursework, 3 credit hours of departmental seminars, and a project of original research. Admission Requirements: A first degree, preferably Second Class Lower or better (FGPA of at least 2.0), for both Ghanaian and international students, in the life sciences, engineering or mathematics from a recognised/accredited university. Applicants with a Third Class may be considered in exceptional cases with at least 3 years of work experience
